Learn to be safe and responsible. Build confidence. Have a competitive edge over other babysitters. One-day class. Topics include first aid, when and how to call 911, CPR with manikin practice, choking, and more! Students will also learn how to be safe and responsible when home alone, including what to do if somebody comes to the door and the importance of not giving out personal information. Students who successfully complete the course requirements will receive a certificate of completion for Certified Babysitter/CPR/First Aid course by Live Safe Academy (valid for two years). To be certified students must participate in the entire course from beginning to end and successfully complete all skills, which requires full motor function of all four extremities. No refunds or credit with less than 24-hour notice. If you need a medical exception, email Live Safe Academy at info@LiveSafeAcademy.com before class. Bring a snack, pen and paper for notes is optional. No cell phone use during class except during break. Please note that students must arrive on time to be certified, so please arrive up to 10 minutes early. Parents, this class is for students who are independent and responsible enough to be responsible for the safety and well-being of younger children without adult supervision. Please check in your student at the beginning of class. Drop off and pick up is in the same room as class. This class sometimes ends late, approximately 10 minutes. L'Anse Creuse has partnered with Mount Clemens Ice Arena to offer learn to skate progams. All Lessons are held at Mount Clemens Ice Arena located at 200 N Groesbeck. From your tiniest Tot to your rising star, this is where it all begins. This professional program offers quality instruction on many comprehensive skill levels. This program is under the direction of Mindi Priskey, a Triple Master Accredited Coach in both Figure Skating and Hockey Power Skating. Our professional instructors will conduct classes in a positive atmosphere, making learning to skate a fun experience for recreational, hockey and figure skaters of all ages! Classes are 25 minutes long and meet once a week for 8 weeks. The next session starts the week of March 5th Thursday 6:00pm- Cubs 1-3, Hockey, Freestyle Thursday 6:25pm- Beginners 1-6 Friday 6pm- Cubs 1-3 Friday 6:25pm- Beginners 1-3 Saturday 10am- Cubs 1-3, Hockey, Freestyle Adult/Teen Saturday 10:25am- Beginners 1-6 Attire: Single blade skates are required. All sizes of skates are available to rent for only $4. Helmets are required for all children 5 and under. We do not provide helmets, but feel free to use your child's bike helmet. Clothing should be warm, but movable, such as snow pants, sweatshirts, snow jackets, etc. Most children will want to wear gloves. We recommend outdoor winter gloves instead of hockey gloves for young skaters. CLASS DESCRIPTIONS For skaters who are new to our program, please start in Cubs 1 or Beginner 1, depending on age. The first week of class, skaters will be evaluated and moved into the level that best suits their needs. Classes meet once per week (pick your day): Cubs 1-3: $100 Entry level classes specifically designed for children under the age of 5. The most elementary skating skills are combined with fun and games to capture and retain the children's attention and concentration. Beginners 1-6: $100 Designed for skaters age 5 & up and/or those who have passed Cubs 3. Freestyle, $144 These levels are designed for skaters who are ready to start their figure skating journey. We teach low level spins, jumps, and choreographic moves while giving skaters the time to practice and develop the confidence they need to join a club or open freestyle ice. Hockey, $144 These levels will teach skills such as beginner crossovers, edges, turns, stops, and mohawks, keeping in mind the proper technique that is used in hockey skating. The purpose is to develop beginning skating skills necessary to be successful at hockey while getting comfortable with the feeling of the stick, helmet, and managing a puck on the ice. Adult/Teen: $100 Classes for ages 15 & up, designed to meet the needs and goals of the beginning adult skater.

LEGO ADVENTURES Get ready for a new building challenge each week! In this creative class, kids design and build everything from skyscrapers and bridges to zoos and imaginative worlds using a huge assortment of LEGO bricks. Along the way, students explore simple ideas from architecture and engineering while planning, building, and improving their creations in a fun, hands-on environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and pride in their work. All supplies are provided. Details Ages: Grades 2-5 Duration: 6 weeks, 60 minutes per class All refunds will have a $7 service fee removed from the original payment. No refunds given after the first class.
