  • Babysitter/CPR/First Aid & Safe Home Alone

    Learn to be safe and responsible. Build confidence. Have a competitive edge over other babysitters. One-day class. Topics include first aid, when and how to call 911, CPR with manikin practice, choking, and more! Students will also learn how to be safe and responsible when home alone, including what to do if somebody comes to the door and the importance of not giving out personal information. Students who successfully complete the course requirements will receive a certificate of completion for Certified Babysitter/CPR/First Aid course by Live Safe Academy (valid for two years). To be certified students must participate in the entire course from beginning to end and successfully complete all skills, which requires full motor function of all four extremities. No refunds or credit with less than 24-hour notice. If you need a medical exception, email Live Safe Academy at info@LiveSafeAcademy.com before class. Bring a snack, pen and paper for notes is optional. No cell phone use during class except during break. Please note that students must arrive on time to be certified, so please arrive up to 10 minutes early. Parents, this class is for students who are independent and responsible enough to be responsible for the safety and well-being of younger children without adult supervision. Please check in your student at the beginning of class. Drop off and pick up is in the same room as class. This class sometimes ends late, approximately 10 minutes.     Buy me some peanuts and Crackerjack…. or a hotdog, chips, and pop which are included in this trip to Comerica Park! Cheer on your Detroit Tigers as they head to the play-offs (fingers crossed)! We have tickets in shaded Section 114; Rows 41 and 42 as the Tigers take on the Cleveland Guardians. Hoping to beat the heat by heading out to the park later in the season. Be prepared for rain or shine! Please register quickly as tickets are limited for this game. 11:45 am departure from Walmart in Chesterfield.     Tuesday, September 16, 2025 In the mood for a FUN DAY in FRANKENMUTH? If so, join us on this trip. The day starts out with some time to shop in Frankenmuth’s unique shops. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy Zehnder’s Plated 2-piece Chicken Luncheon. Lunch comes with sides, dessert and beverage. Following lunch, we’ll enjoy Zehnder’s featured show, “Beach Party Boys”, a Beach Boys Tribute Concert. The show has been described as the “Ultimate Beach Party” and will include such hits as “Barbara Ann”, “Help Me Rhonda”, “Surfin’ USA”, “Little Deuce Coupe”, “God Only Knows”,”Wouldn’t It Be Nice”, and “Good Vibrations”. The day ends with a cruise down the Cass River aboard the Bavarian Belle Riverboat, an authentic paddlewheel riverboat. Sound like a fun day? We think so. Trip departs from the back parking lot of the John Armstrong Performing Arts Center.   • SUMMER ADVENTURE! - Mystery stop, Lunch, Detroit River Cruise & Ice Cream

    First on today’s adventure is a MYSTERY STOP (???), followed by lunch at Grosse Pointe’s Village Grill. Afterwards, we’re off to a cruise along the sparkling blue waters of the Detroit River aboard the Diamond Jack. This nicely narrated 1 1/2 hour cruise will provide us with the opportunity to see such landmarks as the Manoogian Mansion, Detroit Yacht Club, Belle Isle Bridge, Renaissance Center, Detroit and Windsor’s riverfront parks, Ambassador Bridge, as well as a glimpse of the Gordie Howe Bridge. Bring a sweater or a jacket in case you get chilly. Before heading home, we’ll stop at the Chocolate Bar Cafe where you will have a choice of a single dip cone of Alinosi ice cream or a cupcake to take home. Sounds like a FUN Day, doesn’t it? We think so. Join us! Make luncheon selection at time of registration: Michigan Salad with Grilled Chicken, Three- decker Club Sandwich, Reuben Sandwich, or Fish (Cod) Sandwich. Sandwiches come with French Fries. Depart: 10:00 am from the back parking lot of John Armstrong Center, 27066 F V Pankow, Clinton Twp, Approx return: 6 pm Refunds are only given if someone is able to fill your seat.
